Hi We've gotten the following error when printing invoices using ePrint/DocStore:

Cannot create file "K"\data\softpdf\<GOL01_IN_I___2708.pdf. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Is it a problem that the client name starts with the symbol "<" ?

We are using the latest versions of all Adagio modules, except for the service pack for Ledger that was very recently released.

Hi Barb, yes, it's most probably due to the special character, it has caused similar issues at other sites. The master Codes should not include special characters. Current setup can be changed using the Toolkit for Adagio.

I would agree with Vickie that having special characters in key codes such as customer number, vendor number, item number, etc is not a good idea. It can cause problems with the management Crystal reports as well as ePrint/DocStore handling.

We will investigate if there is a way to soften the error. With Adagio 9.3A program versions with DocStore, we have some systems in place for replacing special characters with underscore characters. Maybe something similar could be done for archiving to the SoftPDF directory (which is the 'ePrint PDF' directory, pre-DocStore).
