We've (finally!) installed the new Purchase Orders system. I'm attempting to import some Contract Costing. When using the import feature the system is rounding all of my costs to the full integer and not respecting the 2 decimal places. Please help!

Hi erin p,

There is a 'Unit cost decimals' field in the Import Contract Costing template. Are you importing or defaulting this field? If this field is not importing, the 'default' value will be zero, resulting in what you have run into.

The easiest solution to change your import template - assuming that this is the scenario that 'Unit cost decimals' is not part of your import file - is from the Field Defaults tab, to select Unit Cost decimals and use a value of 2 to assign to all imported records.

But I have a sneaking suspicion that there is an error in the program in using this import template layout - I tried this with sample data, and a unit cost of 8.75 was imported as 9.00.

Another solution is to add a new column to your import file for the value of decimals (2) and include the Unit cost decimals in your import template.

I've tried the fields default as both 2 and 4 with no success. Since we haven't been using this feature all along I doubt it will be worth the effort to make the additional changes to add and subtract decimal places for this to work for us.

Hoping for a hotfix for this one! smile

PurchaseOrders 92A (150217) will default to the Home currency decimals instead of 0 if 'Unit cost decimals' is not imported.

To get 4 decimals, 'Unit cost decimals' must be set in the Import file.
