Hi Everybody,
Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but I can't find the solution.
Are there discrete City and Province fields for addresses like the ZIP/Postal code field? When I go to my specifications in Maintain Specs, there appears to be fields for these. They are called C47 and C48. How do I enable these?
thanks! Lucas

I see, so if I enter the formatted addresses into AR, how will they appear in OE? Aren't those linked?

Hi Lucas,
If you define a customer to use 'Formatted addresses', not only are the city and province saved distinctly, but they are also saved in a 'City, Province' format in a hidden 'address line 4' field. When an OE order is created for such a customer, the discrete City and Province fields are ignored, and instead Address line 3 in the bill-to and ship-to areas are populated with 'City, Province'. And Address line 4 instead, if all other address lines for the customer are non-blank.
There are different spec codes available for printing the address from the customer directly, or printing the bill-to or ship-to address from the OE document. You can use the 'All' sample spec to preview what prints for the various address field codes.
So indeed the addresses are linked as you say. OE just has some logic defined in how to read the addresses in a different way, until such time that Formatted addresses are directly supported on the OE documents.

Thank you, this helps. One thing though, I cannot check the Format Addresses check box. How do define the customer to use a formatted address?

My Ship-Tos are formatted as well, but the Postal Code isn't being concatenated with the City and Province. The only options I have for fields in the Specification Maintenance tool are the standard Ship-To address or compressed Ship-To addresses. The Postal Code prints on the Address field below the City and Province, which is not Canada Post standard. Is there some way I can fix this?
