When i look at my program files, I see Office under Program and Program86 and I am not sure why. I can see that could cause a problem.

The questions remain:
Is OS 7 32 or 64 bit on both machines?
Is Office/Excel 2010 32 or 64 on both machines?
Are you both using GridView X32 or X64?

OS7 Pro 64 bit
Office/Excel 64 bit
My colleague is using GV 32
I have tried GV32 and GV64 and Excel Direct creates a csv file. It does not automatically load Excel the way it should.

Something is different between the 2 machines, either registry or perhaps a rights issue..
With 64 bit OS and Excel I believe Excel.exe is in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14
Try running GV as Administrator.

From your shortcut Right Button | Run as Administrator
As Doug said: "Your Adagio consultant should be able to help you out with this problem." by determining what is different between the machines.
