Can I enter January time before I run the year end processing for december. I wouldnt post it until i post the december bills and run year end processing.

Technically, yes.

When you run year-end processing, it requires that you print and purge posting journals, and retrieve activity into the Ledger, but it doesn't complain about open batches.

However, what I would strongly recommend doing, after you run year-end processing, is to highlight each open batch, click on Copy, check off the Move box and uncheck the Revise Date Fields box, and click OK with the dot in New Batch - this will renumber the batches starting with Batch 1. Otherwise your batches will be out of order and this may cause problems down the road.

Also, you should print and purge the batch status report, after you move the batches, for the range of original batch numbers.

Make a backup of your data before doing year-end processing.
