We have been getting the same error intermittently when performing the OE day end. An error will pop up "Error 4102 occurred when attempting to write record to OE Order Header"
We have performed a Data Integrity & all is good...any ideas????

BTW we are using OE 8.1D (110316)
thanks
Liz

4102 that's intermittent? That's VERY unusual. Usually errors of this nature bring everyone to an abrupt halt and the DIC fails. Sounds like you could have an intermittent hardware problem (the most difficult to track down - sigh).

I am just finding out we had a user that did not have "Opportunistic Locking" turned off...she had gotten a new PC...she is not the user that was getting the Day End error, but I do believe she may have been in the system at the time the Day End was running...is it possible that would have caused the error?
We have corrected the Opportunistic Locking issue, so i am hoping that this corrects the other issue.
What do you think?

Yes, that might explain the issue. Monitor the situation, being religious about making backups and performing DIC's until you are comfortable that the problem has been resolved.

In a modern network setting with new hardware, we generally recommend that OpLocks be Enabled on the Server and all workstations as the performance increase is significant.

Okay, so we have tried doing the Day End on a different computer to see if that resolves the issue....now we received a different error on a different computer.
"Error Externa exception C0000006 occurred when attempting to append record to OE History Detail"

DIC came up with nothing????

This External Exception is usually a sign that you are having network connectivity issues. It has also been caused by having a workstation running Windows XP SP2 attached to the network.

This is not an Adagio issue. You can type the error message into Google and see the circumstances under which it can occur.

To begin with, I would unplug and reattach every cable between each workstation and the server to make sure the connections are well seated. (Not while anyone is in Adagio of course!)

Move the data to a local machine and run the Dayend. If it fails then there is probably a data issue, if it works then you have a Network issue.
