We have been performing monthly period end procedures for both AR & AP. I don't think the year-end procedure has been performed as there's no last year statistic when viewing any of the AR or AP accounts. How can we tell if the Year-end procedure has been performed? Our year-end is Dec. 31st and it's our second year using Adagio. The GL year-end procedures have been completed though. Will there be any negative impact if we do the AR and AP year-end now? Thanks k

Hello Kitty,

There's a document on our web site that describes the period end procedures in each Adagio module and what they do.

Generally, in the sub ledgers, they only reset statistics and the batch and posting sequence numbers.

Hi Andrew,

Will this period and year-end runs for AR & AP be modified so that it is date sensative. Since we are already into our 7th months of our fiscal year and we have not been running the period end either so far this year, it's not really beneficial for us to run this because the program will not separate the data per month if we have not run the period ends every month. Even we run all these ends now, the statistic information is NOT going to be accurate anyway. However, ff they are set up as date sensative and there is an option for us not to reset the batch and posting seq.#, then there will not be an issue for us to run these procedures any time during the new year for us. I am aware that we can always use Gridview or purchase another module "Toolkit" to do the trick without running the period ends but one of the expectations of having a computerized program is to allow the program does most of the work for us so that we can spend more time on doing other things that require our manual effort.

Do you have other suggestions that may help with this issue?

Hi Kitty

Jumping into this "discussion" as a VAR (non-Softrak affiliated consultant), I would much rather Softrak spend its scarce development resources solving issues that have no workaround, rather than one such as this for which there is a readily available solution (although it costs money).

And just so you know, there is only one bucket of "period" statistics, so as soon as you perform period end twice in a row at the correct cutoff, the period-to-date statistics are accurate.
