I had a look at the Adagio online resources (video) about Report Sets in GL and unable to find an answer to this question: can I export in Excel my Report Set (re: month end GL account transactions)instead of Printing or PDF?

If the answer is NO, do you have any other solution to automate exporting to Excel multiple GL accounts transactions which cannot be done just by using a range of account numbers?
The account numbers that I need exported at the month end are all over the chart of accounts.

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi TBusch,

Report Sets cannot automate exporting to Excel - only printed to paper or PDF.

You can use Adagio GridView to automate exporting data to Excel, using a similar procedure for setting up report sets to run as a Windows scheduled task. Create the inquiry in GridView on the desired data and then set the inquiry to export to Excel.

Another way to accomplish this task is to create a financial statement using with the "M" (for current period) or "Y" (YTD) specification code, drop the accounts you need in column B of the SmartSheet, right mouse click to select all the transactions for the accounts named and use the ExcelDirect button to export the transactions. You can choose the transaction fields to export using View | Customize | Settings | (Tx) Details.

I've attached a financial specification that does this to this post.

Adagio GridView is the better solution since you have it available.

Thank you for your suggestion.

While trying to create an inquiry in GridView, I ran into another issue: when performing File, New I am getting the "This function cannot be performed" error (see attached screenshot).
Can you suggest what may cause this issue?

Thank you for your assistance.

Your security permissions do not allow you to create a new GridView View. Review the documentation and verify that the correct parameters are on the shortcut. If you want to create a new View, you must launch GridView from a shortcut.
