We like many business today are looking to send less in our advertising cost from the printed world like business brochures and letters and postcards in order to reach out to our existing customer base after the sale has taken place.Customer Retention is so very important in today business and we do not do a good job at this. We are interested in using the Adagio Software and I understand that the Printboss Application will send the bulk emails to our existing customer base or what ever perimerters that I install. I have the full and complete Adagio Software Applcation a very happy with it and even purchased the SalesCQ and hoping to use this application finally , I believed SalesCQ was like most Customer Retention applications out there like ACT or GOLDMINE Software if used correctly.
Heres the Question?
*How to send Emails to use existing customer base.
**How to make a note on each email that was sent from the email blast ,I would need this in order to make a note on the offer from the email blast like discount, free s/h ,ect, so we can keep track of it . ***So my question is How or what is the process do you do this Email Customer Retention Processwith Agagio and Printboss?

Generally, you print from Adagio through PrintBoss. PrintBoss enhances the options available when printing.

If I understand your project correctly, you want to contact only existing customers, by email, with special offers. There are so many ways to do this.

Are these customers already set up in your email?
Since you can export and import customer notes, you can export a list, create the email (with all the fancy things an email can include), note recipients on the list and re-import it. That puts the note in the AR customer record where you can easily refer to it.

Are the email addresses in AR?
Create a "letter" and an email coversheet in AR and send that to customers (all customers, range of customers, by report group, etc.) Note that the "letter" will go as a pdf attachment and could consist of a business card only, or a full description of the offer, including bmp files.

The letter is created in Maintenance/Maintain specifications. The email coversheet can contain the offer as well, and can refer to customer fields and company fields, but it is limited to text. Create it in Edit/Email cover sheets.

Want to offer discounts on a particular group of products?
In SalesCQ you could create a quote for products available at a discount this month, copy that to each customer in that group, i.e. who uses that type of product. Print to email and send. When the customer orders, turn the quote into an order, deleting the excess lines. You can use "sale" pricing in Inventory to offer discounted items to everyone, but this method limits the offer to your "best" customers.

By the way, by using the filters in the Customer grid, you could export to Excel a report of customers who ordered a lot last year, but have reduced their order volume this year, or a report of everyone who has not ordered in the last x months. That would give you a target group.

Hi Lester,

As Kate mentioned, there are lots of ways to send emails to your customers. Some use SalesCQ, some use Letters in Adagio Receivables, some use Export templates and finally you can ExcelDirect our a SmartFinder or Filtered list and use Word's e-mail merge.

While SalesCQ is supposed to automatically record a note in the customer Notes about e-mails that have been sent, this feature was "broken" in the recent upgrade. However, you can import Notes directly, so that's a minor inconvenience.

You will need to define exactly what steps you want to perform and which customers you want to target. Adagio can only provide the tools to implement those steps.
