We would really need the Excel shhet you are trying to import along with a backup of the empty GL that you are trying to update.

The Excel sheet and Import Defintion must be exact, CVS is a bit more forgiving.

Hi, Ken,

This is a question asked from the original thread above. When you do the import of the .xls file, is the Excel file open? If so, this is probably what is causing the error you're reporting. It's okay to have a CSV file open during an import. Leaving the Excel file open can make Excel very unhappy.

The file is not open. Adagio has always reported the file open error in the past...I have seen it many times :-).
