When in the vendor code field selecting F6 to populate vendors I receive the following error: Critical Error: [1011] insufficient rights to create file in data directory. Please advise what would cause this problem and how to correct it.
Thank you.

Sheryl:

What version of Payables?
What operating system are you using? Satndalone or network?

It's possible that your temp files are not getting deleted and Adagio can't create any more.

Hi Douglas

We are running version 9.0B. The Operating System is Windows XP Professional and it is a peer to peer network.

There are some temp files, when I did a disk cleanup are you referring to the system temp files?

Hi Sheryl,

Your post leads us to think that you are speaking of Adagio Payables but it gets confusing when you say that you are running 9.0B as, to date, there is no such AP version. Must be a typo.

Anyways, that F6 error is usually caused by problems between the Adagio Finder's Control and Temporary files. So, assuming Payables, try the following:
<1> BACKUP your Adagio Data - Complete
<2> BACKUP your Adagio Data - AP only
<3> Move (Cut rather than Copy) the APF*.XXX (where XXX is the, up to 3 chr, extension or data selector for the company data set experiencing the issue) to a temporary folder
<4> Log in to Payables and try the F6 - should be fine now
<5> Run the Data Integrity Check
<6> BACKUP your Adagio Data (step 5 may have done this automatically depending on your version of AP, the results of the DIC and how your company is configured)

Let us know how it goes.

Pete
