we are looking at placing an additional server at a sateilte location to assist with speed issues when working with internal network & Adagio. Does anyone have experience in setting up a ghost server (adagio affect) and whether adagio has the ability to replicate the data from one server to the next?

Hi Gail,

You don't want to do this (no matter what your "IT guy" is saying). Just use a Terminal Server or Remote Desktop for your satellite location.

Gail:

If your IT guy is looking for ways to load balance then he could setup a terminal server for communications and a file server for ADagio/data.

Both servers would sit side by side in a server room, preferably at your main office.

Virtually all of my clients do this so that users connect through the terminal server regardless of where they are located (even the ones in the main office).

Do not spend a cent until you check this site.

I am linking several locations with this and it works.

Hi Edward

Although I am not the moderator of this forum, I do get nervous when someone posts a link and a plug for it without adequate explanation.

Would you mind expanding on your post, telling us in greater detail why this site is a good one to look at for the originator of this thread?

Thanks

Steve

Edward:

I agree with Steve. To add to Steve's request I'd like to point out that "scale can make a big difference". Twenty users on just GL, AP, & AR is a huge difference from twenty users on a large IC, OE & PO database.

So when you say your linking in several locations; what exactloy are you referring to?
