We've finally converted to the A/R 9.0! (took us long enough)During a Cash batch Debbie got the dreaded "access violation at address 00405E80 in module "receivables.exe" read of address F21C015C. Of course we couldn't get out of it and the program stopped responding and the very large batch was lost at end task...Debbie was not amused. Perhaps someone has some insight into this issue.
Thank you
Ilona

Hi Ilona,

An 'access violation' error message is a rather generic message that indicates that at a particular moment the program wanted to perform an action but was unable to do so. Sometimes this error is due to poor performance on the network or workstation, sometimes it is due to a program problem, or perhaps file caching or opportunistic locking, or other reasons. Often it is difficult to narrow down the reason, and ususally it is just an annoying message that can be ignored and doesn't prevent anything. Your message indicates that this wasn't the case for you.

Can you post the service pack date for Adagio Receivables 90A? We have released a couple since the initial release in March. Check the Help / About screen for this information.

Was this the first cash batch that Debbie or anyone else entered? If not and the process worked, then the cause is more likely to be due to something in the environment.

Does the data now pass an integrity check?

How large was the cash batch - number of entries? Over how many days was the batch entered prior to the error - and could the batch be entered in multiple smaller batches for the future?

I can appreciate how frustrating an error like this is.

Hi,
Version 9.0A (090928)
The batch only had 79 transations and was done in a couple of hours.
Thanks,
Ilona

Hi, Ilona,

Does the data pass integrity? To run this function, no one else can be in Adagio. You access the function from File | Data Integrity Check.

If the data comes out with no errors, great, carry on.

If there are errors, make sure you have made a backup and click the Rebuild button. Even when the DIC comes back and says 0 errors after a Rebuild, you should always rerun the check to ensure no other errors are found.

Also, you didn't say if this was the first cash batch Debbie or anyone else had entered in AR9 or not. Have any other batches been posted since the error? Was it a one-time only error or one that is easily recreated by you?

No this wasn't the first batch entered and it hasn't happened since...
Data integrity check came back 0 errors...will advise if this problem crops up again. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!

P.S. Have another question...I've been searching the program to try and set the decimal point default to 2 characters...can this be done? Or is it just on my "wish" list.
Thanks,
Ilona
