After importing a GL batch, it is possible to add/edit the entry description. Batch can be renamed, detail description can be edited, but I don't see a way to edit the entry description.

Can you not right-click on the batch and select "Rename?"

I can rename the batch, but that does not change the description of each entry within the batch.

When you edit a Ledger batch, you can edit the grid on the 'entry list' screen and include a description column. It simply stores the first detail description for convenience. You can see this by editing the entry and the first detail, and changing that description and saving.

This is written to when manually creating a batch, but when a batch is imported, you had to manually edit the first detail to see the description. Note that there was no problem with the imported batch, just that the detail description did not display on this grid.

In the Ledger 90B upgrade, importing a batch will behave the same as if it were manually entered, where the description of the first detail will also populate the description stored for the entry grid.
