I'm taking a close look at our server as the possible source of the problems. Softrak's website states specific system hardware requirements for Workstations but only software recommendations for the server. Our server is an Acer G330 with a Pentium Dual Core D 925 3.0GHz, dual 250GHz Hard Drives, 4GB Ram, DVDRW, Video on board. Is this sufficient for our Adagio usage?

Please advise.

Looks OK to me, but our Partners might have more insight. What are you using as an operating sysem on the Server?

Is your server only dealing with Adagio, or is it also your e-mail (Exchange) Server and Internet gateway? Also, other than when you are working from home, do the workstations use Terminal Server to run Adagio?

YES our server is used for Adagio and email Exchange and for other data (i.e. Word and Excel documents).

NO our server is not used for an Internet gateway.

All of our workstations are running locally to the server and NOT using terminal server. The Adagio data corruption is occurring during the day when everyone is running locally. I use terminal server occasionally in the evenings when I log in remotely from home using Windows Remote Desktop Connection.

Update - Our motherboard was crashing periodically (not necessarily crashing while Adagio was in use and Adagio wasn't necessarily becoming corrupt immediately following a server crash). So, we never put 2 and 2 together, none-the-less, in order to eliminate any and all possible causes for the Adagio data corruption, we changed the motherboard on the server and fully tested the ram etc. Also updated all systems to current drivers and services packs etc. Everything seems to be good now. DataCare is running faster too, even across the server. I'm hoping that the whole issue may have been caused by a flaky motherboard on the server. Time will tell.

Susan,

Good work tracking this down. Intermittent problems are the most frustrating ones to diagnose and resolve.
