A client recently upgraded to Ledger 9. When they try to open the Financial Reporter, they get the ADS32 error that all Lanpak Licenses (0) are already in use. No other users are in the system.

Upgraded from Ledger 6.8. They left the prior version installed and can still get into the FR in version 6.8 on sample data.

Chksys found no problems. The OS is Windows ME.

Windows ME with Ledger 9.0? No promises.

Is it possible that someone else was in Ledger (and that the Lanpak message was genuine?). Did the upgrade go smoothly? Sometimes the dates on some of the files get messed up and we've seen just the financial reporter fail to get updated (check some of the other postings on the forums about Ledger 9.0 and the financial reporter).

Can they get into Ledger V9.0 with the sample data?

No one else in Ledger. I had them check Active Users.

Upgrade went smoothly, but I had them uninstall & re-install in case that would help (it didn't).

They can get into Ledger V9.0 with Sample data, but again, not into the Financial Reporter.

Unfortunately, they are in a remote location, and with Windows ME, I can't access their systems to take a look myself.

Hi, Monique,

Please confirm the exact version release dates of GL9.0A your client is using (in Help | About eg. GL9.0A(080122) or (080402)).

Also, please confirm the exact wording of the error message received.

And, lastly, as Andrew indicated, sometimes a file date has gotten messed up during an install. The ADS32 file is located in their Softrak\System folder. What is the date of the file? Next, when you right click on the file, please select Properties. Does a Version tab present itself? What is the File version of the ADS32 file?

Hi Monique,

Something's wierd here, because the financial reporter does not look for Lanpak's when it's started from the General Ledger. Is your user launching the financial reporter using either the "Maintain" or "Print" financial statement menu choice? Can you get them to print screen the error message so we can get the exact wording?

I know the FR doesn't use Lanpaks...I thought it was a really weird error too. They get the same message if they go through Maintain or Print Financial Statements. Error message below.

1) Ledger Version 9.0A (080402)
2) ADS 32
All Adagio Lanpak licenses (0) are already in use. This application cannot be started. Please contact your Adagio dealer or Softrak Systems if you wish to purchase additional licenses.
3) Date of the file - 10/01/2008 File Version 1.12.54.2419

Do they have a lanpak and is it registered? This message could appear if their lanpaks are not yet registered and licensed, and a particular sequence of opening/closing applications occur. This was reported many years ago (and involved opening and closing AR and GL before attempting to open the Finanaical Reporter).

The simple fix is to get the lanpaks licensed.

No Lanpaks are listed in Checksys. No Lanpaks listed in Add/Remove Programs.

OK, try installing Adagio Ledger 90A again to a different location on their Windows ME workstation, such as C:\test\softrak\ledger. If you cannot load Adagio Ledger 90A from this new install location, the problem is Windows ME. The client would need to get a Windows upgrade or a new workstation.

If this test install location does work in loading the Financial Reporter, then something is wrong in the live install location. Because uninstalling and re-installing didn't fix the problem, you will not only need to uninstall all Adagio programs but also rename the /softrak directory before re-installing.
