If you are having problems retrieving from QB with the "Use classes for departments" option make sure that within QB the Edit | Preferences | Reports & Graphs | Company Preferences | Collapse Transactions option is NOT SELECTED.

If this option is SELECTED then reports in QB (which are used as part of the retrieve) will show -MULTIPLE- in the Class column and FX will not be able to determine the proper classification.
