I checked with the guy who runs Edisoft's Merchant software to process our EDI orders. He showed me how he posts and order from Merchant to (ACCPAC) Order Entry. We don't use ACCPAC OE anymore, but Merchant still thinks it's talking to ACCPAC. He showed me that the first time he ships an order from Adagio OE (using the Ship All button), he gets an error for every line item in the order. I didn't write down the exact error description, but it's something along the lines of 'error deleting entry from Order Detail'. I assume it has to do with moving the item quantities from the 'ordered' colum to the 'shipped' colum.
He acknowledges the errors and gets to post the order at the end. The next order he ships won't have those errors anymore. It's only the first order he ships after importing it from Merchant.

Anyway, I know there's nothing you guys can do about it and I doubt Edisoft is going to fix this... I just want to describe what happens in case someone else encounters this issue. Supposedly, Edisoft is working on a Merchant for Adagio version of its software. In the meantime, this will work for us.

Cheers,

Andre

When you start OE after posting orders from Edisoft, Adagio runs a routine to update the orders, just as it would if you had entered them directly in Plus. I assume this adds fields that are in Adagio but not in Plus.

If Adagio OE is already open when you post orders from Edisoft, this updating would not happen. Does the same error during "Ship All" happen if OE is closed when Edisoft posts and then Adagio OE runs the updating when it is opened?

Hi Kate:

I'll have to check on that. Interesting question.
We're now leaning towards a different pice of software as being the culprit, though. Someone with UPS set up a connector between our ACCPAC Plus data and UPS Worldship some time ago. One enters the ship to code in Worldship and the rest of the data gets pulled from Accpac into Worldship via the ACCPAC ODBC Connector.
What we have been experiencing for a couple of weeks now, is that whenever anyone open Adagio OE or accesses an order, Adagio pops up a message saying order postings have to be updated. This happens even if no one is using Edisoft. The ODBC connector, however, is up and running all day long.
We're in the process of looking into Shiplinx as a replacement.

Andre
