If the DocStore Company Profile has Independent Links Disabled you can update an existing link.

However, if you posted the Payables transaction without an attachment, Ledger doesn’t have a DocLink. When you add a new DocLink for a Posted Transaction in Payables, Ledger will be not updated with the new Doclink.
