I would expect that not being able to post GL batches would be a more frequent problem than adding/editing accounts.

One approach is to create a process to copy the GL files to another folder each day. The FR users would use that dataset. The figures would be out-of-date by a maximum of one day which probably isn't an issue. You could also sell your client FX which would make that "copy" process smoother, but at a $2,100 cost (less NFP discount if applicable).
