The error message appears in the formula because Quik Reports sees a dollar field that has formatting for 2 decimal places and it knows that the results of the formula may be not be 2 decimal places.

To work around this, you need to enter a formula to convert the dollar field to text and then back to a number so that you can multiply. For example:
