One other thing, if you preset your GV Defaults (F2) to use the Save directory you want to use, when you run the /XD? workspace or view it will create the subfolder in that Save directory instead and this can be different than from the data folder it was launched from.

This may or may not be the solution you're really looking for but does provide another option.
