Good morning,

A client of ours is receiving an incomplete posting messsage, only DIC will be available for one of their GL datasets. They had a server issue, which seems to have caused the incomplete posting.

Upon the DIC, 16 errors have been found, all having to do with accounts being out of balance. When rebuild is chosen, the message saying " Data requires EXPERT, contact Softrak for Data Repair comes up.

We have daily backups from the tape drive available, but in this case would a data repair be absolutely necessary???

You can always restore from a backup and redo any work required.

If they have G/L 9.0B and run the Data Integrity Check and Rebuild a couple of times then, in most cases, the G/L will repair itself. If they do not have 9.0B installed and are on updates they should install the update. If they are not on updates then the ability of GL 9.0B to repair itself is reason enough to justify the cost of an upgrade plan.
